George Herring, a founding member of West End Comedy, started with improv in New York performing for 3 years with The Shaun Cassidy Fan Club.  While in Miami, he improvised for 3 years with Just the Funny and was producer of the Miami Improv Festival for 5.  Since his move to Richmond, he performed in a one man show called A Man, A Boombox, and a Blowup Doll, with PUNCH! Sketch Comedy, and with Random Acts Improv Comedy.  George was a featured comedian in the King’s Dominion production Fangs! as Johnny.  He taught improv comedy for the University of Richmond’s School of Continuing Education for 2 years.  He is a teacher by trade and was recognized as the 2010 Hanover County Teacher of the Year as well as “A Teacher That Inspires” in the November 2010 edition of Richmond Magazine.  It’s a good thing he teaches English because there are too many numbers in his bio.
